Do nothing — and that’s the medicine.
Did you know that sound baths are one of the few wellness experiences where you’re encouraged to do nothing — and that’s the medicine.
In an overstimulated world, we are proud to create a safe space at the soul spa where we encourage you to turn off your phone, put down all distractions and simply be. Sound baths are an ancient practice used in a modern world, The practice is inspired by ancient traditions using gongs, chanting, and bowls from cultures like Tibet and India.
Sound baths are proof that rest is not lazy — it’s regulated. In a productivity-obsessed world, the real glow-up is a calm nervous system.
If you are new to world of sound healing, we always suggest trying the 30 minute sound bath first to dip your toe in and see how it feels. Trust your body. Its so facinating that Your body is ~60–70% water… and sound travels 4x faster through water, which is why during the sound bath people often see colours, feel vibrations, feel floaty or fall into a deep restful state. You are literally a tuning fork. But doing nothing can feel very scary at first, but why?
Most people arrive at their first sound bath slightly unsure of what they’re meant to do.
Should I meditate?
Should I clear my mind?
Am I doing this right?
And the answer is always the same:
nothing.
At first, that nothing can feel uncomfortable. We’re so used to optimising every moment that rest without a goal feels unfamiliar — even indulgent.
But after a while, something begins to soften.
Your breathing slows.
Your jaw unclenches.
Your thoughts lose their urgency.
Not because you forced it to happen — but because you finally stopped trying.
The beauty of a sound bath is that the sound does the holding for you.
You don’t have to guide your mind.
You don’t have to follow a technique.
You don’t have to be “good” at meditation.
The shifting tones of the bowls and gongs give your nervous system something to land on — and your body remembers how to rest.
This is why so many people say, “That’s the deepest relaxation I’ve felt in years.”
Not because they learned a new skill.
But because they were given full permission to stop.
